Orchestre Audiovisuel is a new orchestra currently
consisting of eight international Live Cinema artists;
Lucas van der Velden (NL), Gideon Kiers (NL), David Kiers
(NL), Boris Debackere (BE), Brecht Debackere (BE), Jasch
(CH), Meta (US), Martijn van Boven (NL). Assembled by
Telcosystems they premiered their first show at the prestigious
Holland Festival in June 2006 in Amsterdam. All artists
involved have a deep interest in the relations and interactions
between sound and image. Their show is an audiovisual
improvisation with their own custom software.
Martijn van Boven
The work of Martijn van Boven occupies the cutting edge
of experimental film and computer art. In this work, he
investigates the abstract image in relation to film.
Boris & Brecht Debackere
In recent years, the brothers Debackere have worked on
their live cinema performance Rotor: an audiovisual project
in which the possibilities of digital technology and virtual
space are exploited to the max.
Jasch
Jasch, from Switzerland, has a background as a jazz musician.
For a number of years he has delved into the possibilities
of expression to be found in audiovisual, digital processes.
Meta
The American computer artist Meta develops generative
processes for the production of audio, video and graphics
work.
Telcosystems
The three Telcosystems (Lucas van der Velden, David and
Gideon Kiers) strive to ‘free the machine’
in their work by giving the machine its own language in
order to create audiovisual experiences that affect the
human body and mind on a physical level. |
